Yay, James the Angry Goth is back!  Very Happy
I must have somehow missed all the "This is SPARTA!" webcomics - I've only seen a couple reference it (Level 99 and Penny Arcade), but neither went that particular route. To be honest, I think 300 is the most overrated movie I've seen for some time (ymmv, of course) - if you've read the comic and enjoyed it then you'll probably like it, but I just found it quite emotionally dead.

and i didn't even know about those two.
let's see, PvP did one, as did VG Cats, it also showed up in the webcomic my boss writes (Harbor Life), uh... and a bunch more i don't recall at the moment - but i was bored after about the third variation.

I saw the movie. Very shallow storyline and a lot of blood and death. Pleanty of T&A, though.

I found it entertaining myself. Lots of pretty eyecandy on the IMAX screen.

Not a bad movie save for the inacurate blood loss. (too little of it, decapitations should spew blood not just do nothing.) The gore I actually found toned down quite a bit. Only scene I enjoyed a LOT was the first contact with the Persians. pirate

Haven't seen 300, it was enough that everyone went on about it! Ugh! Its not that I can't stand gore, I am a major fan of event horizon and such like, but for some reason large sweaty guys ripping into other large sweaty guys doesn't get me going...

Okay, I'll admit that I happened across the VGcats one immediately after posting, which kinda negated the post I made...  Very Happy  I haven't read PvP for ages, and to be honest, Penny Arcade is really starting to bore me too.
On the other hand, good to see the reappearance of Ada - looking forward to seeing where this is going Smile

I'm not going to touch that one too much, but I'm bi. The women didn't get me feeling anything, but I liked the movie for the lack of shirt on studly bodies. xD

The blade was heated, it made the wound seal shortly after being ripped open. If you paid attemtio, you'd see the blade steaming and the neck was steaming.

Rudi, get off your lazy ass and make more Deathworld.
And bring Cthulhu back... let the goths free him or something.

The blade was heated, it made the wound seal shortly after being ripped open. If you paid attemtio, you'd see the blade steaming and the neck was steaming.

There were 3 decapitations and for a wound of that size to be properly closed via a heated weapon you'd need something along the lines of a plazma rifle. Even an iron at full burn won't close a wound that size with out some applied force and some time. Even if it did seal the wounds, the blood pressure would break the light cauterization. The movie just took the fact that a group of Spartans held off a much larger Persian force and then added on its own bricabrac to the mix. Like the whole political intrigue part, that would have never happend, I don't think Sparta even had such a group.

Either way, real history far outstrips the movie as is the tradition in dramatized reenactments such as 300.  pirate

I wasn't actually insinuating anything, I am bi to, I just don't like large mussily guys running into each other, really.
