it's been, like, three years since the last one, and here i am trying to put one together in under a week's time.
i must be crazy. i've calculated that to reach my goal, i have to finish a minimum of four pages a day
i've got three stories written and laid out, i just have to get the pencils and inking done. i don't think i'll
use Letra-tone this time around.  if anything, i'll be scanning everything in and use half-tones in PSP.

page count: 17 (adding front cover, back cover and inside cover will make 20)

pages done so far: 3 1/2

the main problem is that i keep dawdling.
i don't think i'm gonna make it, but i'd really like to.
we'll see, i guess.

okay, well after two days of drawing (and dawdling Tongue ), I've got six pages done. SIX!
And one of those is the cover page.  Although, i must say they do look really nice.
Now, at this time, i just have to figure out something for myself -- whether to shoot for
a 24pg mini-comic like i originally planned or settle for the usual 16pg format.  i guess
it depends how much stress and drawing i feel like doing.  Right now, i've got 3 pages
in progress, and i can see myself finishing those and two more today.  That would bring
me to a count of 10, and if I add in the page i used for Webcomic Awareness Day 2004
(which was originally intended for a mini-comic, i tweaked the dialogue for online use)
plus another "filler" page, i'd have the internal 12 needed for a 16pg ashcan.
That would just leave me to do the inside, inside-back, and back cover, which i can
layout in Publisher or something.

i somehow think i've already decided what i'm going to do...   Neutral

well, things are looking pretty good. at the moment,
i've got two pages left to finish (one panel each),
and one full page that has yet to be pencilled at all.
i also created a new Overseer comic on the fly, to better
introduce the comic and characters to newcomers.
It might not even be necessary, but i had two pages
to fill anyways, so why not?
i don't think i'm gonna have time to scan in the pages
and do greyscale half-toning, but i don't think anyone
but me will notice.
now i just gotta find someone with a laser printer who'll
be willing to let me print out my master copies of the
two pages that aren't drawn (back cover and inside front)

well, i got everything finished up last night, so i'm ready to go print.
i think i'm going to take along my masters of issue 6 (which was a revamp
of the Nemesis storyline, another good comic for newcomers to
the series.

well, that was fairly painless. only cost about $40 for 80 issues (30 of issue 6, 50 of issue 7)
I just used the self-serve copiers at Staples. they've gotten better equipment since i was
there last, and the Xeroxes gave me little trouble (except for one jam). These new machines
have a neat function called "booklet creation" where all you have to do is feed them the originals
in numerical order, and it puts them in the "correct" order, shrinks them down to fit two originals
lengthwise on a 8.5x11, and automatically doublesides the pages. very time saving!
now i just have to staple them together, which is always loads of fun... Tongue

Heh, you should see how i have to print instruction books at work when we find something wrong with them, or just run out (which is often)
