So, this is the thread to show off the bonus Deathworld comics.
These are various comics that don't show up in the main archive for one reason or another. I've included little notes of interest to help you understand them a little better.

This bonus comic is one that appeared only in the Gateway, the student newspaper that
Deathworld was published in until the spring of 2003. This comic was to "explain" a
hiatus of mine during the late part of 2000. The real reason was that i had submitted a
bunch of comics to the editor that he felt were not up to my usual standards. And i was
too busy with other projects to come up with new ones. At least, I'm pretty sure that's
what the reason was...

Now this bonus comic was a little something I threw together when I decided to move
from a once a week schedule to twice a week (January 2001). I wanted to make sure
all the casual readers of the comic were informed of the change, so this ran on the
usual Thursday update. I tend to break the fourth wall often in my comic, but i think i
took it a little too far this time, as you can see in the fifth panel. It's a fairly blatant
yet subtle joke. what can i say? My humor is like that sometimes.

This bonus comic appeared in the Gateway at the start of the following school year
(September 2001). During the Week of Welcome at the University of Alberta, all the
student groups have booths set up to recruit members. I'm sure you're familiar with
the concept if you've attended any post-secondary learning institution.

Now this comic that only appeared in the Gateway was actually printed in color, which
was really neat. This was supposed to be the last comic I was going to do for the paper,
but then they sucked me back for another year.  Obviously, this was a spoof of the old
Scooby-Doo cartoons, but what made it really funny for some of the Student's
Union staff was the poke I made at Jen Wanke. I've poked fun at her before, but i'd say
this was my "tour de force" in mockery

In the summer of 2002, i was asked to do a comic for the program guide for Edmonton's
yearly anime festival, Animethon. Now this was a huge feather in my cap, as this was
something going to be seen by literally hundreds of people. i was so excited. Sadly though,
i somehow sent the guidebook editor the file with the wrong DPI resolution, so the printed
version was all fuzzy and anti-aliased. Still, i'm happy with what i contributed. This was
printed in black and white, i colored it later for my own amusement.

This bonus comic was the actual "final" comic for the Gateway, printed April 2003.

This one requires a little background explanation. I attend a monthly artist group
meeting called ECAMU, which i enjoy very much. One of the gang had recently
done something for the 24 Hour Wecomic challenge, except he did a comic in 24 minutes.
Sure, it was only two pages, but still i think the spirit of the event was there. Anyways,
i decided that would be something neat to try, so i did the same thing (well, almost -
it took me 33 minutes to finish mine.) The above is what i came up with. Kinda funny,
if i do say so myself.
